Alexey Miller, the head of Gazprom, and Italy's Ambassador to Russia, Pasquale Terracciano, exchanged opinions on the subject of building a southern route for gas supply to Europe, as it follows from the message pf the gas holding.

“We focused on diversifying the gas supply routes from the Russian Federation to Europe. The parties talked about the undergoing activities on the establishment of the southern gas supply route through the Black Sea,” the message reads.

Alexey Miller informed Pasquale Terracciano about the completion of the construction of over 50% of the Turkish Stream's offshore section. The other string of the gas pipeline will provide almost 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year to Europeans.

It should be noted that Italian companies Eni and Edison are the key partners of the Russian gas holding in the country.
