Moscow. Our special correspondent Alexei Nevsky. A joint press conference of representatives of “Skolkovo” foundation and public joint-stock company “KAMAZ” took place in the Moscow office of KAMAZ.




The initiation of a program for the selection and development of projects to create innovative technologies for environmentally friendly trucks and buses has been announced. PJSC KAMAZ Director of Development Irek Gumerov and Vice-President of Skolkovo foundation Nickolai Grachev told journalists about the program “Electrochemicals - 2015”.
As the latter said, the aims of the program are to find and develop innovative projects on energy storage (meaning batteries) and hydrogen technologies for the creation of environmentally friendly transportation means. Claims for participation in the competition will be received till October 1, and on October 14 an international practical conference will take place in Skolkovo. The finalists’ projects will be presented at it, and they will be supported by grants of 5 m rubles from Skolkovo foundation.
Deputy Director General of PJSC KAMAZ Irek Gumerov, in his turn, spoke on the prospects for the development of the largest automobile holding in Russia. He remarked that next year the plant will produce the first buses with electric engines.
The coming plans of the plant include the production of noiseless electricity-driven garbage trucks for utilities sphere. They will replace the old ones. Answering the question of the Construction.ru's correspondent as to when electric vehicles for the construction industry are expected, Irek Gumerov said that the plant is not working on this problem yet because there is no interest from constructors. They do not seem to be anxious about the ecological safety of their commercial construction vehicles, facilities and equipment.
