Greenland Group, a Chinese building developer, start work on the 67-storey Spire London tower, which is expected to become the tallest residential tower in Western Europe, The Guardian reports on Tuesday.

The building is to be erected in London’s Docklands.

Spire London tower, which is worth $1.066 bln, will have 861 apartments, of which 765 are for private sale.

According to Greenland, half of the construction work is scheduled to be completed by 2018. The project is planned to be put into operation by 2020. Along with the apartments, there will be gardens, a cinema, a spa and a bar. There will also be a separate “poor door” entrance for social tenants housed on the lower floors.
