Greenhouses of the Stavropol region located in Russia are planned to be allocated from the federal budget over one billion of rubles (approximately $17 million), Vmeste RF TV channel reports on Tuesday.
The funds will be allotted to the agrarians for the purpose to make up for the expenses on the greenhouses construction.
Priority area of agriculture development in the Stavropol region is the development of protected ground vegetable farming.
The authorities of the Stavropol region set an objective to double the areas of greenhouse production facilities by the year 2020. The same increase is planned for protected ground vegetable production.
As a reference, the Stavropol region, a federal subject of Russia situated in the North Caucasian Federal District, has a well-developed irrigated agriculture with 3,361 km of irrigation canals.
