Residents of the Russian capital city of Moscow with the use of “The Active Citizen” platform voted in favour of the creation of 20 new parks.
Over 82% of voters approved the location of new recreation zones in the vicinity of residential quarters, the website of Moscow Mayor Office reports on Thursday.
“They will be established within the framework of a project “Community-Based Park”, which has been operating in the capital city over three years,” the message reads.
The most support got the idea to create parks in the districts of Levoberezhny, Bogorodskoye and Ochakovo-Matveevskoye. More than 90% of residents cast their votes in favour of these sites.
A total of 207,000 people took part in the voting.
