In 2018, a unique greenhouse complex for the production of one thousand tons of various vegetables per year is planned to be built in Norilsk, an industrial city in the Krasnoyarsk region, Russia, located above the Arctic Circle.

The corresponding statement was made today by Norilsk Mayor, Oleg Kurilov, over the course of his interview with TASS news agency. At that, he clarified that it would be the second project of such kind. The first greenhouse complex with a capacity of 200-300 tons is scheduled to be put in operation as early as this year. Construction activities at both sites will be financed by private investors.

Meanwhile, both projects stand a good chance to get support from the Monotowns Development Fund. We should remind you that the main purpose of this entity is an integrated development of such towns through the diversification of their economies.
