In 2016, the number of millionaires in Ukraine decreased by a quarter, the State Fiscal Service of the country said on Friday.
“Over the course of the last year, 3,504 people declared their income of over 1 million hryvnas ($37,800). In comparison with 2015, the number of millionaires has decreased by 25%, or by 1,180 people”, as it follows from a statement published on the Agency's website.
Nevertheless, despite a decrease in the share of millionaires, the total amount of their incomes compared to last year has increased by 13%, or by 3,2 billion hryvnia (over $120 million). The vast majority of citizens, who declared more than one million hryvnas of income, reside in Kiev.
