Russia will take part in the reconstruction and development of the Ulan-Bator railway in Mongolia.

As Minister of transportation of the RF Maxim Sokolov declared at a briefing in Ufa, Russia is working with Mongolian partners on the development of new transportation corridors.
“Besides the new Silk Road Economic Belt they are promoting transportation connections, particularly Steppe Road with connection to BAM and Transsib,” the minister said. “It is about the reconstruction and development of the Ulan-Bator railway managed by RZD. The RF participation is planned here.”
To remind you, last September RZD and Mongolia’s Ministry of roads and transportation signed an agreement on strategic partnership in upgrading and development of the Ulan-Bator railway. Russia is ready to further support Mongolia in using Russian Far-Eastern ports for transshipment of Mongolian cargoes.
