The Prosecutor's Office of Vienna is conducting an investigation against Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, Tom Enders, who is suspected of fraud with a contract for the purchase of Eurofighter jets intended for the Austrian army in the amount of $2 billion, according to Reuters.

Tom Enders is listed as one of the defendants in the investigation, and this information was also confirmed by the Prosecutor's Office of Vienna.

Earlier, Austria Presse Agentur news agency reported that the Defense Ministry of Austria accused the aircraft building group Airbus of deliberate deception and fraud in the procurement of Eurofighter jets in 2003, and intends to sue the company in court.

According to the agency, during the investigation the Ministry has come to the conclusion that Airbus and Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug misled the Austrian government about the aircraft’s price.
