$248m waste recycling technology park to be built in Leningrad region

Techno Recycling Group intends to invest about 14 billion rubles in construction of an industrial waste recycling park in the Russian town of Slantsy situated in the Leningrad region, the press office of the regional administration announced on Thursday.




According to the project’s concept, a total area of the park will amount to about 80 hectares. The facility’s projected capacity is 2 million tons of solid household waste per year.

The processed waste is planned to be used by enterprises producing biofuel, phenolic film and construction materials, that will be located on the territory of the park as well.

The park’s capacity will process waste delivered from the nearby and Russia’s second largest city of St Petersburg. The project is scheduled to be implemented by 2025.
