Gazprom breaks agreement on gas transport with Ukrainian Gaztranzit

Russian gas holding Gazprom and Ukrainian Gaztranzit have agreed to break an agreement on the blue fuel transport and to terminate all rights and obligations of the parties under the contract of the 1st of July 2017.




As it follows from Gazprom’s documentation, the agreement was signed by the parties on the 5th of September 2002.

The Board of Gazprom has decided to approve the transaction on the 16th of December 2016.

Gaztranzit was established in November 1997 with the aim of increasing the capacity of Ukraine's gas transit system to increase transit of Russian natural gas to Turkey and Balkan countries. The company is implementing a project for increasing of a capacity of the main gas pipeline Ananiev – Tiraspol – Izmail, which passes through the territory of the Odessa region and Moldova.
