RusHydro, a Russian hydroelectricity company, has estimated the cost of upgrading of its thermal power plants located in the Far East at 300-350 billion rubles (some $6 billion).




This is what George Rizhinashvili, a representative of RusHydro, said at the company's telephone conference, Rambler News reports on Monday.

“According to preliminary estimates, the volume of capacities subject to modernization and replacement is about 1.3 GW. The minimum amount of investment in the modernization of a typical generation is about 300-350 billion rubles with the projects to be implemented within 5-10 years,” he said.

However, Rizhinashvili has stressed that it does not mean, that this amount will be included in the company’s investment program.
