The governor of the Saratov region, Valery Radayev, has examined the course of construction of the highway made from phosphogypsum in the Balakovo area. As Construction.ru reported in the regional press service, works are being carried out on the most problematic part of length 7 of the road from Balakovo to Yershov. This is a regional road that has gone without repair for 15 years. As the governor noted, vehicular traffic, especially from heavy goods vehicles, has destroyed much of it. Last year, one part of the road was renovated with the use of phosphogypsum – a by-product of the mineral fertilizers production process. The new road’s "clothing" has survived the winter well, and now the technology is being used again. Every day 150 meters of new road is being laid and before the end of the season for roadworks, the first section of 7 km will be renovated, governor Radayev hopes.
